Why join the Speaker Bureau?

Our Speaker Bureau showcases women leading transport across Australia.

Leaders featured come from a range of transport modes, specialities, and locations. They work across a mix of public and private sector organisations.

They have diverse backgrounds and experiences and generously share their stories and insights.

We want to reflect in our Speaker Bureau the diversity of the communities in which transport leaders work and feature women leaders from different cultures, ages, sexual orientation, and those living with disability. When we talk about women, we include anyone who identifies as a woman.

We encourage expressions of interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on whose lands, waters and communities transport projects are delivered and where transport services operate.

We are currently running an expressions of interest process to expand our Speaker Bureau and welcome submissions from women leading transport.

Guidelines

All submissions received will be considered by the National Transport Commission.

Criteria for inclusion are:

  • You are a leader of a team or project, involved in the regulation, operation or delivery of a significant transport system or transport infrastructure in Australia.
  • You are a member of your organisation’s executive or senior leadership.
  • You have established a career in the transport sector and a commitment to help make the transport industry more diverse and inclusive.

Additional guidelines for your submission comprise:

  • A summary of your key achievements and what is important to you as a leader.
  • Consideration will be given to the alignment with National Women in Transport’s values and policies.
  • Information about your career must be relevant to the transport sector.
  • To support your submission, please include any details of how you contribute to the transport industry beyond your job (eg. participate in industry associations, mentor others, champion diversity initiatives in your organisation and sector).

All submissions will be considered by the NTC, who will aim to respond within three working days. Please be aware that there is a limited number of speakers we can profile on our website and as such we cannot guarantee that you will be added to the bureau even if your submission meets our criteria. If we don’t have capacity to include your profile at a certain time, you will be placed on a shortlist for inclusion with the next expansion of the speaker bureau.

Please email enquires@womenintransport.gov.au and we will be in touch.
