Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year 2023 recipient Louise Adams

Congratulations to our speaker bureau member, Louise Adams, Group Chief Operating Officer Aurecon, on being awarded the prestigious Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year 2023 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the profession and society.

This award is presented annually by the Civil College of Engineers Australia to an eminent civil engineer considered to have made a major contribution to the profession. Louise was presented the award by her fellow speaker bureau member, Romilly Madew AO FTSE HonFIEAust, CEO of Engineers Australia and Nick Fleming GAICD, National President, and Board Chair.

Louise is one of Australia’s highest profile female engineers, with more than 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Civil Engineer, managing and designing works in both civil and multi-disciplinary projects in land development as well as technical advisory. She has led major civil and multidisciplinary projects in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Iran, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Singapore, Guyana, North America, Pakistan, Libya, Qatar, and the UAE.

The award recognises Louise’s efforts to increase the future engineering pipeline and advocacy for a more diverse industry, particularly around increasing the number of women entering and remaining in STEM were recognised.
